Over 800 journalists from all over world now work in Lviv - City Council

Lviv International Media Center was visited by more than 800 journalists from 50 countries from five continents of the planet during the month of its work, the press service of the Lviv City Council reported on Thursday.

The largest number of journalists are from France (14% of the total), Italy (7%), Poland (6%), USA (6%), Spain (6%), Great Britain (4%), Canada (3%), Portugal (3%). There are also media representatives from Japan, China, Australia, Brazil, New Zealand, Argentina, India and other countries. There are 11% of Ukrainian journalists.

Lviv International Media Center began its work on February 18, even before the full-scale invasion of the Russian war in Ukraine, and became the main platform for the work of foreign media. On March 14, Lviv International Media Center turned into Ukraine Media Centre, moved to another location and became a joint project of the city and the Office of the President of Ukraine.

The task of the Ukraine Media Center is to help the media in covering the war. Here, journalists can receive information about the situation in Ukraine directly from officials, city mayors and representatives of the public sector. Briefings and press conferences are held live both offline and online. In any conditions, journalists who are directly in the Media Center can personally ask questions to the speakers. In addition, media representatives can work in specially equipped work areas, record interviews and conduct broadcasts.
