President signs decree to amend clause 7 of regulations on drawing up documents on transfer of state secret to foreign state or international organization

Late on Monday Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko signed a decree on amendments to clause 7 of the regulations on drawing up documents on the transfer of state secret to a foreign state or international organization.

The press service of the head of state has reported that the amendments will be made to president's decree of December 14, 2004 on some issues of the transfer of state secret to a foreign state or international organization. Paragraph 15 has been updated.

According to the report, the amendments made to paragraph 15 concern draft executive agreements and in exceptional cases foresee the transfer of secret information to a foreign side without a list of data storage items. The decision to transfer concrete data storage items with secret information to a foreign site is made by the head of the state agency, local self-government agency, enterprise, institution and organization which allowed transferring secret information by the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU).

The decree takes effect from the day of its publication.
