Zelenskyy hands over missile drones to Defense Forces

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy has handed over the first batch of missile drones to the Defense Forces.

As an Interfax-Ukraine agency correspondent was informed, the drone missile is called Peklo (Inferno), its range is 700 kilometers, the speed is 700 kilometers per hour. This is a fundamentally new weapon. There were five successful combat applications of it.

The transfer ceremony was also attended by Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrsky, Defense Minister Rustem Umerov, Adviser to the President of Ukraine on Strategic Issues Oleksandr Kamyshin, Minister for Strategic Industries of Ukraine Herman Smetanin and his deputy Hanna Hvozdiar.

Minister Smetanin later said on the Telegram channel that the missile drone was designed by a Ukrainian manufacturer from scratch in a year.

"Peklo is not only produced in series, but also constantly being improved. Work is constantly underway to increase the level of protection of the product from electronic warfare, improve its operational characteristics and accuracy," he said.

According to the minister, "new types of warheads are being developed to expand the list of possible targets."
