President Volodymyr Zelenskyy says the inclusion of a number of temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine in the Constitution of Russia is a serious problem.

"It is difficult to say. In any case, we cannot recognize the territories that are occupied as territories of Russia. This is one of the most difficult challenges that exist. Everyone understands that what Putin did, he wrote some of our territories into his constitution – this is a serious problem. He simply stole them, not just temporarily occupied them," Zelenskyy said in an interview with the national marathon on Friday, answering the question of whether there is a compromise for Ukraine on the issue of returning to the 1991 borders.

The president also said those territories are temporarily occupied until Ukraine legally secures something. "Life can be different. It depends on our strength, it depends on the fatigue of our partners or not, on desire or change of policies, there are many things. But there is a historical view on this – our land is secured in our constitution and in all international documents, it exists with clear borders. It can happen differently, but until Ukraine legally recognizes these or other temporarily occupied territories, even one village, as Russian, it will remain Ukrainian," he said.
