Zelenskyy in video address: Weapons production in Ukraine is absolute priority
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy held the Supreme Commander-in-Chief Headquarters, discussed with its participants the situation at the front, in particular in Pokrovsky direction, and the issues of supplying the front with everything necessary, paying special attention to its own weapons production.
"I held Headquarters today, and also spoke with Commander-in-Chief Syrsky, Chief of the General Staff Barhilevych, Minister of Defense Umerov, Head of the Main Intelligence Agency Budanov and Head of the SBU Maliuk. They reported on all the main directions at the front – from those where the hottest, in particular this is Pokrovsky direction, to those where it is now calmer, but we still need attention and normal support," Zelenskyy said in an evening video address on Tuesday.
The president said very detailed work is underway on support issues – "both on arms supplies, that is, the implementation of our already reached agreements with partners, and fast logistics for each announced package." In this context, the president focused on the production of weapons in Ukraine "this is an absolute priority, and every month it should be felt that Ukraine is becoming more independent in matters of providing weapons."
Zelenskyy said the Headquarters participants also reported on the issues of "staffing our brigades, and I thank everyone involved in this process. There is the necessary dynamics, and we must do everything so that the formed brigades can give us more potential for rotations and support for those who on the first line."
In a video address, the president also briefed about a meeting on international work held during the day. "Some very necessary negotiations are planned for this week, including on weapons," Zelenskyy said.
