Ukraine Facility program doesn't cover reforms related to Ukraine's accession to EU – Stefanishyna

Deputy Prime Minister, Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration of Ukraine Olha Stefanishyna says the assistance program for Ukraine in the amount of EUR 50 billion for the next four years (Ukraine Facility) does not cover reforms that are associated with the country's accession to the European Union.

"I want to say right away that the Ukraine Facility, EUR 50 billion program, does not actually cover the reforms that are associated with joining the EU," Stefanishyna said at the annual general meeting of the European Business Association on Wednesday.

According to her, in this regard, additional funds will be provided for the implementation of these reforms.

Stefanishyna said since the Ukraine Facility program is primarily aimed at covering macro-financial stability in Ukraine and creating a benchmark for reforms for economic growth, "the budget for preparation for EU membership is, in fact, the only budget for the country's development." "All other support from international partners is survival budgets," the Deputy Prime Minister said.
