Zelensky calls for complete trade and energy isolation of Russia from Europe - greetings to Prespa Forum Dialogue

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has called for Russia's complete trade and energy isolation as a response to its "anti-European" policies, he stated this while welcoming the Prespa Forum Dialogue, taking place in North Macedonia.

"Today, there is not a single country left in Europe that has not suffered from at least one of the manifestations of Russian anti-European policy," he said.

According to Zelensky, "we are all faced an unprecedented energy crisis. Russia managed to make various countries of Europe dependent on itself. And now, when Russia decided to fight against the European peoples, it used this chain. It specially provoked ultra-high gas prices. It deliberately limited gas supplies, blackmailing both individual countries and Europe as a whole."

This pressure on the gas market, he noted, leads to the fact that inflationary processes have accelerated significantly.

The food crisis provoked by Russia, Zelensky said, provokes not only an increase in prices, and for basic foodstuffs, but also a new migration crisis.

"The Russian blockade of Ukrainian ports and attacks on our agro-industrial infrastructure are leading to shortages in important segments of the global food market. Russia knew where to strike in order to create this crisis, and it deliberately continues this war against our state and refuses to make the Black Sea safe for navigation," he said.
