The city of Bucha in Kyiv region remains occupied, residents do not need to return there yet, Secretary of Bucha City Council Taras Shapravsky has said.

"Today, the city of Bucha remains a dangerous direction. It is still occupied," Shapravsky said on Telegram on Friday.

According to him, there is verified information from the Armed Forces, from the Defense Intelligence Agency that "the armored vehicles of the Rashists have been withdrawn" as well as a significant part of the Russian military personnel.

"At the same time, a large number of sabotage groups remain, as well as the Russian military, disguised as civilians, and in fact continue to resist," Shapravsky added.

He stressed that it is dangerous to return to Bucha today.

"And this situation will be even after the liberation of Bucha, we predict up to a month, because according to preliminary information, large areas are mined," Shapravsky said.

He specified that residential and administrative buildings, abandoned military equipment were mined in Bucha, "even the bodies of the dead were mined."

"A big request to everyone who stays in the city of Bucha: do not approach unfamiliar objects, do not walk in the forest area, do not approach abandoned military equipment, do not touch the bodies of the dead, which have been lying for a long time, there is a high probability that they are mined," the secretary of Bucha City Council said.

He also added that the process for the liberation of Bucha continues.
