Four Ukrainian citizens injured in Rome escalator accident

Ukrainian citizens have been injured as a result of the collapse of the escalator with people at one of the stations of the Roman metro the night before, with several dozens of other people - mostly Russian citizens - fans of the Russian CSKA football club, the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry has reported.

"Citizens of Ukraine who were injured in the metro in Rome were hospitalized in one of the local hospitals. The injuries do not pose a threat to the lives of the injured Ukrainians. The consul maintains contact with the victims and the medical staff of the hospital," the Consular Service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said on Wednesday morning.

However, there is no information about the number of injured citizens of Ukraine.

At the same time, the online publication Ukrayinska Pravda, referring to Director of the Department of the Consular Service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Serhiy Pohoreltsev, reports on four injured Ukrainians.

"All of them were hospitalized in one of the local clinics. Their injuries do not pose a threat to life. These are mostly leg injuries. I will not say more. According to preliminary information, they should already be returned from the hospital, they should be discharged from the hospital," it quoted the diplomat as saying.
