Ukraine and Turkey are expanding defense cooperation in the sphere of creating new arms systems.

According to a posting on the website of the League of Defense Companies of Ukraine, referring to military expert Serhiy Zgurets, recently Ukraine successfully tested a new combat module for wheeled armored vehicles. It was designed as part of Ukrainian-Turkish cooperation with participation of Ukraine's PrJSC Practika R&D center and Luch design bureau, as well as Turkey's Aselsan.

According to the report, the new combat module installed on the Kozak-2M armored vehicle designed by Practika was exhibited to potential buyers, including foreign ones. Aselsan designed a remote control combat module, the control system for this module and battlefield surveillance systems (first of all, thermal scan).

According to the report, the new module could be equipped with different types of machine guns, and its main striking force is the Ukrainian-made Barrier anti-tank missile system with an increased number of RK-2S missiles designed and manufactured by Luch bureau.

"During the tests in the daylight a guided anti-tank missile RK-2S were launched at a distance of 1.8 km along a moving target, and also at night - 3 km along an armored target using the Aselsan thermal imager. The launches were successful," the league said in the report.

As the league said, earlier Luch and Aselsan also carried out combat launches from a combat vehicle presented by the Ukrainian Armor company, which indicates the possibility of using a new weapon system for various mobile platforms created in the framework of military-technical cooperation with Turkey in order to meet the requirements of foreign customers.
