More than 50% of Ukraine's military order fulfilled by private companies – Turchynov

National Security and Defense Council Secretary Oleksandr Turchynov has said more than 50% of the state's military order is fulfilled by private companies.

"More than 50% comes from private companies," he said during the 9th National Expert Forum in Kyiv on Thursday.

Turchynov added that steps are being taken to liberalize foreign economic activity and they will be approved in the near future.

"We're talking about permission to export military equipment directly, irrespective of whether it belongs to the state or commercial sector. We will allow export irrespective of legal status for our needs in the production of military equipment and weapons," he said.

Turchynov said all restrictions on direct contracts of state security structures for acquiring weapons from abroad (if Ukrainian supplies cannot provide same) will be dropped. He said the steps would improve Ukraine's military preparedness.
