Klimkin offers condolences to victims of van attack in Toronto

Ukrainian Foreign Minister Pavlo Klimkin is shocked by the reports of a van mowing down pedestrians in Toronto, Canada, and wishes a speedy recovery to the injured.

"Heartbroken to read the news coming from #Toronto. My thoughts and prayers with loved ones of those killed. Wish a speedy recovery for the injured. Ukraine stands shoulder to shoulder with Canada," the foreign minister wrote on Twitter on Tuesday.

According to Canadian media, on April 23, a van jumped a curb and slammed into pedestrians in a crowded street of Toronto, killing at least 10 people and injuring 15. The driver was detained.

The Ukrainian consul is checking if there are citizens of Ukraine among those who fell victim to the incident, spokesman for the Department of Consular Service of the Foreign Ministry Vasyl Kyrylych said.
