Interior Minister of Ukraine Arsen Avakov during his working visit to the United States will discuss the confrontation with the Russian hybrid threat with representatives of the U.S. State Department and the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the press service of the Interior Ministry of Ukraine has reported.

The events will also be attended by First Deputy Head of the National Police of Ukraine - head of the criminal police Viacheslav Abroskin.

"Our visit will undoubtedly include political issues and those related to the activity of the Interior Ministry. The main thing is to counter the Russian hybrid war. We are ready to adopt practices of many advanced countries, but in the matter of countering the hybrid war of Russia, the whole world should learn from us," Avakov said.

He added that another issue is to strengthen cooperation with the Federal Bureau of Investigation in combating organized crime, in particular the Russian one, and its impact on the processes in the world.

"This is very important, given the events in Salisbury, chemical attacks on civilians in Syria, interference in electoral processes and cyber threats," he said.

The program of the five-day visit also includes a visit to the center where FBI agents are trained - the Quantico academy, and a series of meetings on joint actions between American and Ukrainian law enforcers in the fight against organized crime.

"This is organized crime, which is acting in the territory of Ukraine under the influence of Russia. The purpose is destabilization of the situation in the territory of Ukraine. This is why the Russian authorities use "crime bosses" and other criminals who travel from Russia to Ukraine," Abroskin said.

In addition, he said, it is planned to sign a Memorandum of Cooperation between the National Police of Ukraine and the Drug Enforcement Administration of the U.S. Department of Justice.
