Odesa Mayor Hennadiy Trukhanov has a Russian passport and is the founder of 20 companies registered in the British Virgin Islands, supervising the ROST construction business group in Ukraine, according to data from the International Consortium of Investigative Journalists (ICIJ), promulgated in the Slіdstvo.Іnfo program.

"The name of Hennadiy Trukhanov has repeatedly emerged in the documents and correspondence of Panamanian offshore registrar Mossack Fonseca. Companies from the British Virgin Islands, in which the mayor acts as a founder, control many Ukrainian businesses. Land, construction of offices and housing, road repairs for budget funds," reads the report.

According to the journalists, in the registration documents of the Virgin companies Trukhanov is listed as a Russian citizen, while the companies are controlled by different parts of the ROST business group involved in road repairs and construction of super-expensive housing and apartments for the middle class.

According to the journalists, Rostdorbud in 2015 received UAH 270 million of budget funds for road repairs in Odesa and Kyiv. In general, over the past four years ROST Group had earned more than UAH 2 billion on tenders.
