The Batkivschyna faction in parliament has demanded that Verkhovna Rada Speaker Volodymyr Rybak initiate the consideration in parliament of a program for the activity of the new Cabinet of Ministers.

"Volodymyr Vasyliovych [Rybak], you, as head of parliament, will have to initiate the submission to parliament of a program for the government's activity," the deputy leader of the Batkivschyna faction, Serhiy Sas, said at a meeting of the parliament's conciliatory council on Wednesday.

He said that the consideration of such a program was necessary, first of all, for the parliament, "because it's necessary to approve a plan for current and future legislative work."

In addition, Sas said that the faction had demanded that parliament hear a government report on the execution of the state budget for 2012.

As reported, according to the schedule, a plenary meeting of the Verkhovna Rada in January will be held only once - on January 10. On January 11, as planned, MPs will hold an hour of questions for the government, close the first session, and go on vacation.
