Estonia to provide Ukraine with Mistral systems, missiles
Estonia will provide Ukraine with Mistral air defense system launchers and missiles as military assistance, the press service of the country's Ministry of Defense has said.
"Ukraine urgently needs air defense to repel Russia's ongoing brutal attack, and it is also in Estonia's direct security interests to contribute to this together with its allies," Defense Minister of Estonia Hanno Pevkur said, as quoted by the press service on the official website on Tuesday.
According to the minister, the assistance package is designed in such a way that Ukraine receives maximum benefit from it without harming the combat readiness of the Estonian defense forces.
Exact quantities are not disclosed for security reasons.
Previously, according to the ministry, Estonia transferred Javelin anti-tank missiles, howitzers, artillery ammunition, anti-tank mines, anti-tank grenade launchers, mortars, vehicles, communications equipment, field hospitals (including in cooperation with Germany, the Netherlands, Norway and Iceland), medical equipment, personal protective equipment and dry rations.
