Zelenskyy: Free world lacks speed in air defense supplies

The enemy's use of guided bombs once again brings back the need for air defense, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said in a video message on Monday.

"I spoke today with the commander-in-chief about the situation in particular in Donetsk directions, Kharkiv region, we maintain control everywhere. Russian killers are actively using guided bombs in the areas of the city of Chasiv Yar, and in the Pokrovsk direction, and in the Lyptsi area, Kharkiv region, and in other places of battle," he said.

"This again and again returns us to the need for air defense, for additional protection systems that could significantly reduce the difficulties for our soldiers and the threat to our cities and communities. And this concerns the preparation of the transition of our air forces to new combat aircraft," Zelenskyy noted.

Unfortunately, he said, "in these two tasks, the speed of the free world is still lacking, but we have perspective and promising work with several partners and are doing everything so that the day comes as quickly as possible when we can add the strength of Patriots to our cities such as Kharkiv, such as Sumy and others."
