At night, air defense destroys 34 of 35 Shahed UAVs attacked Ukraine – Air Force
During the night, air defense destroyed 34 of 35 Shahed-type UAVs that attacked Ukraine, the Ukrainian Air Force said on Thursday morning.
"On the night of December 21, 2023, the Russian occupiers attacked with attack UAVs of the Shahed-type in three directions: Chauda – occupied Crimea, Primorsko-Akhtarsk, Kursk – Russia.
In total, 35 Shahed-136/131 launches were recorded, attacking in waves at different times, from 20.00 on December 20 to 03.30 on December 21," the Armed Forces of Ukraine said on the Telegram channel.
According to the report, tactical aviation, anti-aircraft missile units and mobile fire groups of the Air Force and Defense Forces of Ukraine are involved in repelling the air attack.
"This night, in different directions, the sky defenders managed to shoot down 34 out of 35 enemy attack UAVs launched," the AFU said.
Air defense operated in Kyiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Vinnytsia, Cherkasy, Kherson, Zaporizhia, Mykolaiv, Khmelnytsky, Sumy, Poltava, Chernihiv and Kirovohrad regions.
