Two people were killed, 20 were injured, and five to seven people are under the rubble of a building in Kryvy Rih that was hit by enemy missiles on Monday morning, Interior Minister of Ukraine Ihor Klymenko has said.

"So far, 20 people have been injured, two people have died. About five to seven people are under rubble," the minister said on the air of the National Telethon on Monday.

According to him, at 09.02 there were two enemy missile attacks on the center of Kryvy Rih. "From five to eight floors of a nine-storey residential building were destroyed. The technical school of the Polytechnic Institute of Kryvy Rih was also practically destroyed," the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs said.

He said the rescue work is currently underway to get people out of the rubble.

According to Klymenko, door-to-door rounds are also being carried out in the house where the enemy missile hit.

As for the building of the technical school, as the minister said, in the morning there was almost no one there, only civilians came into the cafe on the first floor. "Nearby is a unit of the National Police, which also suffered as a result of this strike," he said.

"We are talking exclusively about civilian infrastructure facilities, about civilian people," Klymenko said. He clarified that among the victims there are many people who were walking along the sidewalk next to the building of the technical school.
