Minister of Culture and Information Policy Oleksandr Tkachenko considers it necessary to study the question of why the tendency to ban the use of the social network TikTok in public institutions in Western countries began.

"I once downloaded TikTok for two days before the war and then I realized: this is not for me, and not because it is not interesting, but because it is a completely different content. This is not Telegram channels, and this is not like other social networks. It is necessary to study the question of why such a trend has begun regarding the ban on the use of TikTok in public institutions," Tkachenko said in an exclusive interview with Interfax-Ukraine, answering the question whether Ukraine sees the need to introduce the same restrictions for this social network as in a number of Western countries.

As reported, a number of countries have banned the use of TikTok apps on all government devices. In particular, similar initiatives have already been introduced in Australia, Denmark, and Canada. In addition, the TikTok application will be banned on the gadgets of officials in the United States, Estonia, the UK, as well as on corporate devices in the European Commission.
