The broadcasting of TV channels 112, Newsone and ZIK has been discontinued in the digital multiplex and cable networks on the night of February 3 after the publication of President Volodymyr Zelensky's decree to block them.

At the same time, the online broadcasting of these TV channels continues on Youtube. As of 1:00 on February 3, some 13,200 people were watching the broadcast of all three channels.

MP Nestor Shufrych said that the presidential decree is illegal, since sanctions can only be imposed against foreign legal entities and individuals.

As of December 2020, the average share of channels in the 18+ panel (cities with more than 50,000) is the following for the TV channels: ZIK – 1,290, Newsone – 1,003, and 112 – 1,005.

According to the law "On Sanctions", they can be applied by Ukraine in relation to a foreign state, a foreign legal entity, a legal entity that is under the control of a foreign legal entity or non-resident individual, foreigners, stateless persons, as well as entities that carry out terrorist activities.

The grounds for the application of sanctions, inter alia, are the actions of a foreign state, a foreign legal or natural person, other entities that constitute real and/or potential threats to national interests, national security, sovereignty and territorial integrity, promote terrorist activities and/or violate the rights and the freedoms of a man and a citizen, the interests of society and the state, lead to the occupation of the territory, expropriation or restriction of property rights, infliction of property losses, creation of obstacles to sustainable economic development, full use by citizens of Ukraine of their rights and freedoms.

It was reported earlier that President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky signed a decree on the introduction of sanctions against MP of Ukraine from the Opposition Platform - For Life faction Taras Kozak, as well as eight limited liability companies for a period of five years.
