European, Euro-Atlantic integration to be enshrined in Constitution - Poroshenko

President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko is sure that the Verkhovna Rada will amend the Constitution of Ukraine at the next session on securing the country's European and Euro-Atlantic Euro-Atlantic course.

"I have no doubt that such unity - the idea of the European Union - unites the absolute majority of political forces. It is a guarantee that this will become an integral part of our Ukrainian Constitution at the next session of the parliament," Poroshenko said during the ceremony of handing the ten-millionth biometric passport in Kyiv on Friday.

He also added that "there is also an item that finally removes the right of the Russian Federation to keep military bases on our territory."

The head of state reminded that the Verkhovna Rada supported the presidential bill with 321 votes on September 20, "where it is clearly stated that the goal of Ukraine's foreign policy is membership in the European Union and membership in NATO."
