Ukraine's parliament asks Budapest Memorandum signatories to send monitoring missions to Ukraine

The Verkhovna Rada has urged the parliaments of the states which are guarantors of Ukraine's security, and international organizations to send monitoring missions to Ukraine.

"In connection with military operations launched by the Russian Federation against Ukraine, the Verkhovna Rada urges the parliaments of the signatories to the [1994] Budapest Memorandum and international organizations to send special monitoring missions to study the real situation in Ukraine", a draft resolution by the Ukrainian parliament reads.

As the Verkhovna Rada met behind closed doors on Sunday, there is no information whether the draft resolution had been amended.
