German, French, British embassies sing Shchedryk in solidarity with Ukrainians
Representatives of the German, French, British embassies and Ukrainian artists sang Shchedryk together as a sign of support and solidarity with Ukrainians.
"For over a century, the legendary Shchedryk by Ukrainian composer Mykola Leontovych has been heard around the world as a symbol of Christmas. Back in 1919, the overflowing polyphony conquered the hearts of Europe, and later America, revealing to the world Ukraine - an independent nation with its own voice. And it conquers to this day," the German embassy said in a Facebook message.
The diplomatic mission thanked the Ministry of Culture of Ukraine, as well as the artists of OPEN OPERA UKRAINE and the National House of Music for the opportunity to sing together, as well as the Kyiv Metro for their assistance in filming.
"Let a dignified, just, and lasting peace return to Ukrainian land. #WeTogether is on this path," the embassy said.
