Trump appoints Keith Kellogg who announced plans to freeze war as special envoy for Ukraine

U.S. President-elect Donald Trump announced the appointment of General Keith Kellogg as special representative for Ukraine and Russia.

"I am very pleased to nominate General Keith Kellogg to serve as Assistant to the President and Special Envoy for Ukraine and Russia. Keith has led a distinguished Military and Business career, including serving in highly sensitive National Security roles in my first Administration," Trump said on the Truth social network.

Kellogg previously served as national security adviser to Vice President Mike Pence, as well as executive secretary and chief of staff of the U.S. National Security Council in the first Trump administration. He served as acting national security adviser after the resignation of Michael Flynn. Kellogg's plan to end the war in Ukraine, according to The Wall Street Journal on November 6, calls for Ukraine to refuse to join NATO for 20 years, freeze the front line, and create a demilitarized zone. It also includes handing over the occupied Ukrainian territories to Russia.
