Ukraine to strengthen cooperation with European Investment Bank
Strategic areas of cooperation between Ukraine and the European Investment Bank (EIB), in particular investment in critical infrastructure and financing projects for the country's economic recovery, were discussed by Deputy Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Iryna Mudra with the newly appointed Head of the EIB Regional Hub for European Office, Kristina Mikulova.
Particular emphasis was placed on the need to strengthen energy security and restore transportation and logistics infrastructure that connects Ukraine with the EU, the President's Office said.
The EIB expressed its readiness to support projects that will contribute to Ukraine's energy independence and modernization of key infrastructure facilities.
In addition, during the meeting the parties discussed the EIB's participation in the implementation of the EU Ukraine Facility worth EUR 50 billion.
Mudra thanked the EIB for its strong support for Ukraine since the start of the full-scale Russian invasion.
"This meeting confirms the importance of the strategic partnership between Ukraine and the European Investment Bank. Thanks to the support from our European partners, we will be able to restore critical infrastructure faster and improve the competitiveness of Ukraine's economy," she said.
