Number of victims in Slovyansk from Russian shelling increased to seven – prosecutor's office

The number of people injured in Slovyansk from shelling by Russian troops has increased to seven people, including two children, Donetsk regional prosecutor's office reported.

"At 17:10 on October 7, 2024, the town of Slovyansk came under fire of the Russian army. The enemy attacked the settlement, probably with two UMBP D-30 SN. The weapons hit the courtyard of an apartment building and the roadway," the message posted on the Telegram channel says.

According to the prosecutor's office, a 44-year-old man in the car was injured as a result of the shooting. He was taken to hospital, where he died.

A 25-year-old mother, a 2-year-old daughter and a 13-year-old girl were injured. Three women aged 21 to 72 were also injured. Another resident was diagnosed with an acute stress reaction.

Under the procedural guidance of Donetsk regional prosecutor's office, a pretrial investigation has been launched into a criminal case on the fact of violation of the laws and customs of war (Part 2 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

Earlier, it was reported that one person was killed and six were wounded as a result of the shelling.
