International business and charities will help restore houses damaged by Russian shelling in Lviv as part of the Take a House under Guardianship campaign, Lviv Mayor Andriy Sadovy said.

"During the morning attack [on Wednesday, September 4] on Lviv, Russia damaged 188 buildings. Some 20 of them are in critical condition. This is historical heritage, housing and schools. We call on Ukrainian and international businesses to help restore these buildings. We are not announcing a collection! We invite you to take a house under guardianship and restore it," he wrote on his Telegram channel on Wednesday.

According to the mayor, Carlsberg was the first to join the initiative, having declared a contribution of EUR 50,000 for the restoration of buildings. Another $100,000 will be sent by Sean Penn's charity organization in Ukraine CORE, and UAH 5 million will be sent by the Ukrainian groups Kormotech and Enzyme.

In addition, the Polish government intends to join the campaign, Sadovy added.

As reported, on Wednesday morning, the occupiers launched a combined attack on Lviv with drones and missiles - two strikes were recorded in the city. As a result, seven residents of the city died, including three children. Residential buildings, schools and medical institutions were damaged.
