Some 594 Russian servicemen captured in Kursk axis – Syrsky
To date, 594 Russian servicemen have been captured in Kursk direction, and the exchange fund of Ukraine has been significantly replenished, said Oleksandr Syrsky, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
“Also, thanks to the successful actions of our troops, we have significantly replenished the exchange fund. As of today, 594 servicemen of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation have been captured in this direction,” Syrsky said at the Ukraine 2024.Independence forum in Kyiv on Tuesday.
He stressed that the enemy is trying to resist the Ukrainian soldiers, “pulling troops from other directions, thereby weakening them.”
According to Syrsky, the enemy is trying to create “a ring of defense around our offensive group and is planning further counter-offensive actions.”
“Our further actions in this direction will depend on the development of the operational situation,” concluded the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
