US companies have four-five ammo production deals with Ukraine – Pritzker
U.S. defense companies already have four or five deals with Ukraine that are either closed or being implemented for the production of ammunition and the provision of services, U.S. Special Representative for Ukraine Economic Recovery Penny Pritzker has said.
"The defense industry. We've been working very closely with the minister of special industries, the prime minister, and others to help grow a defense industry here in the country. And we've got four or five deals at this time that are either have closed or in the process of coming to fruition for the production of different kinds of ammunition, for the provision of services, all of which are desperately needed to help Ukraine be successful in the war, but also will set Ukraine up for the future of supplying such products to Europe and the rest of the world," she told a press briefing in Kyiv on Monday, when speaking about sectors ready for investment.
The Special Representative also underlined the prospects of the technology sector in Ukraine.
"Technology employment has grown, I think, 8% and is going to continue to grow," she said.
Pritzker noted that the U.S. delegation visited the InScience school, which is training young women to work in technology fields.
"Obviously, as there's greater mobilization, getting women into the technical fields is a real opportunity, and there's huge demand for those services," she said.
