Shmyhal instructs ministries to identify areas requiring additional funding
Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal held the first meeting of the Steering Council on the coordination of the activities of central executive authorities, during which he instructed the ministries to analyze which areas need additional funding.
"We held the first meeting of the Steering Council on coordinating the activities of central executive authorities to support Ukraine's participation in the Multilateral Donor Coordination Platform," Shmyhal said in his Telegram channel on Thursday.
According to the head of the Ukrainian government, the Steering Council included the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Economy, the Ministry of Justice, the Ministry of Infrastructure, as well as representatives of Ukraine in the World Bank, the International Monetary Fund, and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development.
"Our task is to coordinate needs, distribute responsibilities and set goals by the end of the year. I instructed the ministries to analyze which areas need additional funding: the state budget, rapid recovery projects (primarily energy), projects to support the economy and the private sector," Shmyhal said.
He said access to financing within the EU Ukraine Facility program has already been opened in Ukraine, and it is necessary to create a single list of projects that are ready to attract investment as quickly as possible.
In addition, ministries must also develop a digital solution by the end of the year in order to see in real time a list of all assistance in support of priority sectors.
"The tasks and responsibilities have been identified. We continue our work for a strong Ukraine, a stable economy and our common victory," Shmyhal said.
