A Turkish delegation of eight MPs, chaired by former Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Fatih Dönmez, took part in the 62nd meeting of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Organization of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation (PABSEC) in Kyiv.

"At the PABSEC ceremonial meeting, we once again emphasized that our country presiding over the organization will continue efforts to ensure sustainable peace and compromise in the Black Sea region," the Turkish Embassy in Ukraine said in a statement on the X social network.

At the meeting's opening, Head of the Turkish delegation Dönmez read a statement from Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Turkey Hakan Fidan, which emphasized that Turkey will continue its unwavering support for Ukraine, as well as make any diplomatic efforts for a sustainable peace based on the independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, including Crimea.

It is also noted that the restoration of the Black Sea Initiative is of strategic importance for regional stability and global food security.

In his speech, the head of the Turkish delegation to the PABSEC said Turkey, aware of its regional role, is determined to continue its initiatives aimed at preventing the escalation of tension in the Black Sea.
