Kuleba: If EU, Ukraine additionally join efforts to guarantee grain corridor security without Russia, then corridor will work in full

Foreign Minister of Ukraine Dmytro Kuleba has said that the sea corridor through which Ukrainian grain can be exported to the world without Russia's participation is a reality and called on the EU to strengthen security guarantees for this corridor.

The issue of Ukrainian grain export to the world market was discussed during an informal meeting of the EU Foreign Ministers in Kyiv on Monday, he said.

"[While discussing] this issue, we talked about relations with the countries of Asia, Africa, South America: there was a very detailed conversation on this topic. Everyone is making an effort. Our signal is very clear – a sea corridor through which Ukrainian grain can be exported to the world without involving the Russian Federation is a reality. We have already demonstrated this. If now the EU and Ukraine additionally join efforts to guarantee the security of this corridor, then the corridor can operate at full capacity," the minister said at a joint press conference with the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell.

The minister stressed that Ukraine should look together with the EU for solutions that would deprive Russia of the opportunity to blackmail the world with hunger or grain prices.

"We can completely cope without them, as it was before the start of a full-scale invasion," Kuleba said.
