Speakers of the parliaments of Ukraine, Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania Ruslan Stefanchuk, Juri Ratas, Inara Murniece and Viktorija Cmilyte-Nielsen called on the international community to immediately close the skies over Ukraine.

Such a requirement is contained in a joint statement by the heads of the legislative bodies of Ukraine and the Baltic countries, signed in Kyiv on Thursday.

"The statement calls on the international community to immediately create a no-fly zone over Ukraine to prevent massive civilian casualties," the website of the Ukrainian parliament reports.

The speakers of parliaments also supported the acceleration of Ukraine's membership in the EU, the continuation of NATO's open door policy. In addition, they invited the international community to impose a complete trade embargo against Russia; urged countries to increase the supply of weapons needed by Ukraine to win the war.

According to the leaders of the four parliaments, the war crimes of the Kremlin regime should not go unpunished by the International Court of Justice and the International Criminal Court. They also stated the need to start thinking about the restoration of Ukraine now and spoke in favor of a comprehensive assistance plan for the revival of the Ukrainian economy.
