MPs propose to toughen responsibility for collaborationism - bill

MPs propose to introduce criminal liability for any cooperation with the aggressor state.

Corresponding bill No. 7186 on amendments to the Criminal and Criminal Procedure Codes, which will tighten liability for collaborative activities, was registered by a group of people's deputies on Monday, the website of the parliament reports.

The bill proposes to supplement the Criminal Code with a new article "Aiding the aggressor state."

This article criminalizes any collaboration with the aggressor state, its occupying administration and/or its armed or paramilitary formations.

The bill provides for such criminal offenses liability for a period of 10 to 12 years with deprivation of the right to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities for a period of 10 to 15 years and with or without confiscation of property.
