PayPal starts full-fledged work in Ukraine, to temporarily cancel service fee for Ukrainian accounts

PayPal has fully launched all the functions of the payment service in Ukraine.

"PayPal in Ukraine! Now you can shop online, transfer funds and withdraw money to Ukrainian bank cards. Link your Visa and Mastercard cards and use them now. Thanks to the team for responding to our request so quickly and supporting Ukrainians during the war," Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Digital Transformation of Ukraine Mykhailo Fedorov said on his Telegram channel on Wednesday.

He also thanked the team of the Ministry of Digital Transformation, the team of the National Bank and the IT community for their help.

"I am pleased to share that we are launching a service that will allow Ukrainian customers to send and receive person-to-person payments from friends and family, and to transfer funds from their PayPal Wallet to eligible credit or debit cards. We believe that this service will be helpful for people in Ukraine to receive money from their friends and relatives around the world," according to a letter from Dan Schulman attached to Fedorov's post.

In addition, PayPal will temporarily waive service fees for customers sending funds to Ukrainian PayPal accounts or receiving funds to Ukrainian PayPal accounts.

PayPal also continues to support humanitarian aid to Ukraine – platform customers have donated more than $250 million to international charities providing humanitarian aid in Ukraine and supporting refugees, of which over $6 million was raised through PayPal's global client relief campaign.
