EU will definitely expand sanctions against Russia – Klimkin

Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Pavlo Klimkin is sure that the European Union will expand the sanctions list against the Russian Federation.

"The EU is considering this, but the process itself, unfortunately, is not very fast, but a decision is necessarily being made," Klimkin told journalists in Kyiv on Wednesday.

He recalled that the process of imposing sanctions in response to the election of the Russian president in the occupied Crimea lasted several months.

"New sanctions will be also processed during several months," Klimkin said.

The minister stressed that the sanctions pressure on the Russian Federation is growing both from the U.S. and Europe.

According to him, the sanctions imposed on Russia do not allow Russia to "develop and feel like a civilized country." "We will work not only to expand these sanctions purely arithmetically, increase the number of companies, but will make it the way so that these sanctions would systematically affect Russia," Klimkin said.
