Inter-faction group in support of 'Marshall Plan for Ukraine' created in Rada

An inter-faction parliamentary association "Coalition in Support of the Economic Development and Investment Plan - the Marshall Plan for Ukraine" has been created in the Verkhovna Rada, Parliamentary Speaker Andriy Parubiy said at the morning plenary session on Tuesday.

Parubiy said independent MP Hanna Hopko was elected head of this association.

The speaker also said that the inter-faction parliamentary association "Human Rights Coalition" was also created in the Verkhovna Rada and co-chaired by Olena Sotnyk of the Samopomich faction and Ihor Lutsenko from the Batkivschyna faction, as well as the inter-faction association "Drinking Water" headed by Andriy Reka of the People's Front faction.

As reported, on November 6, in Vilnius, the ambassadors of the EU countries, the U.S., Canada and Japan presented the "New European Plan for Ukraine for 2017-2020" (the so-called 'Marshall Plan' for Ukraine). It is designed for ten years and in the medium term (2018-2020) provides for the allocation of $5 billion per year.

According to the text of the resolution adopted on March 30, the EPP called upon the European states to develop a long-term plan for Ukraine's support that would include various programs of assistance in the military, humanitarian and economic spheres, promoting democratic reforms and supporting European and Euro-Atlantic integration.
