Zaporizhia Regional Council at a meeting on Tuesday upheld an address of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine dated October 27, 2015 to the United Nations and other international institutions concerning the recognition of Russia as an aggressor-country, and the self-proclaimed Donetsk and Luhansk people's republics as terrorist organizations.

It took the council three attempts to pass such a decision with the support of 43 members of the council out of a total of 45 registered in the hall, the UKROP party press service reported on Tuesday.

In addition, the council members voted to recognize volunteers as combatants. This decision was supported by 45 lawmakers, the party said.

The UKROP party member also suggested banning pro-Russian performing artists from touring in Zaporizhia region. However, this initiative was not supported.

As reported, Zaporizhia City Council earlier banned concerts by performers who support the aggressor country.
