Over 100 Ukrainian soldiers undergo rehabilitation in Lithuania in 12 months

Some 120 wounded Ukrainian soldiers have undergone rehabilitation in Lithuania since the beginning of war in eastern Ukraine, and another 50 servicemen will go to Lithuanian by the end of the current year.

"Since the very first days of the conflict in the country's east, Dnipropetrovsk region started handling the wounded. Local doctors would bring the heroes to life with own forces. One of the first countries that have lent their helping hand to Dnipropetrovsk region was Lithuania. A hundred and twenty participants in the Anti-Terrorist Operation (ATO) have already undergone rehabilitation in that country. Understanding has been reached on sending another 50 soldiers by the end of the year," head of Dnipropetrovsk Regional Administration Valentyn Reznychenko told reporters on Monday.

The rehabilitation takes place in a modern European center located in the old Lithuanian spa town of Druskininkai, which treats patients with injuries of the muscular or skeletal systems. The rehabilitation course lasts for a month.

According to Reznychenko, this is the result of agreements reached between Dnipropetrovsk Regional State Administration and the Honorary Consulate of Lithuania in Dnipro.

Ten ATO soldiers are currently undergoing rehabilitation in Lithuania.
