Two Ukrainian military killed in Donbas on Sunday

Two Ukrainian military were killed in the anti-terrorist operation zone in eastern Ukraine on Sunday and the enemy opened fire on the Ukrainian military positions 37 times, Oleksandr Motuzianyk, presidential administration spokesman, said.

"Two our military were killed in action in the past 24 hours," he told a briefing in Kyiv on Sunday.

Motuzianyk said the enemy has breached the ceasefire regime in the Popasna region on Luhansk track five times, including using 82 mm mortars.

On the Donetsk track, the situation exacerbated south and east of Avdiyivka, where militants launched over sixty mines of various calibers on the positions of the Ukrainian military within 24 hours. Also in Avdiyivka, the enemy opened fire using 122 mm self-propelled artillery platforms Gvozdika, and militants used 82 mm mortars in Zaitseve twice.

"Additionally, attacks and military provocations by the occupants occurred on the other parts of the frontline, on the Svitlodar Arch, in Mayorsk, and in the area of the Donetsk Airport. All in all, the enemy carried out 37 attacks on the Donetsk track in the past 24 hours," Motuzianyk said.

On the Mariupol track, the enemy opened sniper fire on the Ukrainian checkpoint on the motorway connecting Donetsk and Zaporizhia in Maryinka. "To save the lives of the personnel of the ant-terrorist operation and civilians, the checkpoint is temporarily closed. In Starohnativka, the positions of the Ukrainian troops also came under fire from a sniper and combat infantry vehicles," Motuzianyk said.

Additionally, ceasefire breaches have been registered in the village of Shyrokyne east of Mariupol. A total of seven attacks on Ukrainian positions were registered on the Mariupol track, sources in Kyiv said.
