Anti-corruption office created in Donetsk Regional Administration

Chairman of Donetsk Regional Military-Civil Administration Pavlo Zhebrivsky has signed a decree on creating an anti-corruption office at the administration.

The press service of the administration reported on Thursday that the office will consist of lawyers, experts on public procurement, employees of the regional Prosecutor General's Office, regional departments of Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) and Interior Ministry, the territorial division of the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine and the State Financial Inspectorate.

Zhebrivsky said that the office will seek to obtain full control over tender procedures.

"Not only has monitoring and analysis of tenders finished, but also work on preventing violations of tender laws starting from the preparation phase. We need to reveal and remove the conditions that help corruption to appear in this segment," he said.

Deputy Chairman of Donetsk Regional Military-Civil Administration for the coordination of law enforcement agencies Viktor Remsky heads the office.

On November 1, 2015 the ProZorro electronic public procurement system will start operating in Donetsk region.
