One Ukrainian serviceman injured in Donbas over past day

The lull in the Donbas combat zone lasts but one Ukrainian serviceman has been hurt in an explosion over the past day, Ukrainian Presidential Administration spokesman for the army operation Oleksandr Motuzianyk said.

"All was quiet along the contact line yesterday and the militants did not open fire on us. One Ukrainian serviceman was injured in the blast of an explosive device. That happened in the town of Zolote in the Luhansk region," he said at a press briefing in Kyiv on Thursday.

In turn, the Main Intelligence Department of the Ukrainian Defense Ministry said it had detected militia artillery systems outlawed by the Minsk agreements in certain areas of Donbas.

The report published on the department website on Thursday said that Ukraine had informed the OSCE about the discovery of hostile artillery systems with calibers exceeding 100mm (self-propelled artillery systems) and 122mm Grad rocket launchers near Krasnodon, Stakhanov and Mospyne in violation of the Minsk agreements.

On the whole, all was quiet in the army operation zone and Ukrainian positions were not attacked, the Ukrainian intelligence reported.

The department said that on October 21 the hostiles focused on the withdrawal of tank units from the contact line in the Sloviansk and Mariupol sectors.

"In the Donetsk area the enemy demonstrated the withdrawal of weapons from the frontline but later on amassed them in forbidden areas," the department claimed.
