Lithuanian interior minister to visit Ukraine on Monday

Lithuanian Interior Minister Saulius Skvernelis will arrive in Kyiv on Monday to discuss cooperation between the law enforcement agencies of the two countries and the implementation of European standards of governance.

During his visit, Skvernelis will meet with Interior Minister of Ukraine Arsen Avakov and representatives of the National Guard and the National Police of Ukraine.

"The aim of the visit is to strengthen relations between the Interior Ministry and the law enforcement authorities of Lithuania and Ukraine for the further development of bilateral cooperation and exchange of experience in the implementation of European and international standards of democratic governance in the Interior Ministry of Ukraine and subordinate executive agencies," the Lithuanian Interior Ministry reported.

During his two-day working visit, Skvernelis will also meet with Secretary of National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Oleksandr Turchynov and deputy head of the presidential administration of Ukraine in charge of law enforcement agencies Andriy Taranov.
