Ukrainian foreign minister presents Poroshenko's peace plan at OSCE conference

Ukrainian Foreign Minister Pavlo Klimkin made a report on the implementation of the plan proposed by Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko, which is aimed at resolving the situation in the eastern regions of Ukraine, at an annual OSCE conference on security issued on Tuesday, the information policy department of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry has reported.

"The minister familiarized the participants with the steps aimed at implementing the peace plan for resolving the situation in eastern Ukraine, which was proposed by Petro Poroshenko, and reiterated the importance of the role of the OSCE, specifically, through the activities by its special monitoring mission in Ukraine, in assistance on the settlement issue," the report says.

Klimkin also spoke about the gross violation by Russia of OSCE principles and commitments, which led to the "annexation of Crimea and the escalation of the situation in eastern Ukraine."

The meeting participants reiterated the need for joint efforts for the purpose of releasing the hostages, including eight OSCE monitors.
