Boryspil Airport to step up security during celebration of 1,025th anniversary of Rus Christianization

The aviation security service of Boryspil International Airport (Kyiv) together with law enforcement agencies will provide additional security measures on July 24-29 in connection with the arrival of guests to celebrate the 1,025th anniversary of the Christianization of Kyivan Rus.

All flights will be carried out according to a daily flight plan, the airport's press service told Interfax-Ukraine.

Boryspil International Airport is the main airport of the country and services 65% of the passenger air traffic in Ukraine. It is the only airport in Ukraine from which transcontinental flights are performed.

Boryspil airport occupies about 1,000 hectares. It has two runways: one 4,000 meters long and 60 meters wide, and another 3,500 meters long and 63 meters wide.
