Parliamentary campaign in Ukraine was active, but not all candidates had equal opportunities, says OSCE observer

The election campaign in Ukraine was active, however not all candidates enjoyed equal opportunities, the head of the European Parliament's election observation mission, Pawel Kowal, has said.

"Speaking about the election campaign, it was active, but the candidates did not have an opportunity to send their messages to voters and to compete with each other on equal terms," he said at a press conference in Kyiv on Monday.

While speaking about selective justice, Kowal noted that although the election law was a consensual decision, still it "lacks in sufficient legal and constitutional guarantees for proper implementation."

He added that the fact that Ukrainians participated in the elections "brings Ukraine closer to the EU."
