Shmyhal: We are finishing 2024 in conditions of financial stability

Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal says that Ukraine is finishing 2024 in conditions of financial stability.
"We are finishing 2024 in conditions of financial stability. We are fully financing our Defense Forces through taxes, fees, and internal loans. Thanks to our partners, we are covering civilian expenses," Shmyhal said at a government meeting on Tuesday.
The prime minister recalled that Ukraine has received more than EUR 16 billion from the European Union under the Ukraine Facility program, and almost $5.4 billion under the IMF cooperation program.
"The support of the United States, the World Bank, Japan, Canada and other partners is also significant. Direct budget support alone will amount to about $41 billion this year. We are grateful to all of Ukraine's friends for their solidarity. This allows us to fully fulfill all of our obligations," he said.
According to Shmyhal, over the first 11 months of 2024, more than UAH 510 billion from the state budget was allocated for social security, UAH 140 billion for the state medical guarantees program, and UAH 163 billion for transfers to local budgets.
"We clearly understand where we will get the funds from next year. We expect to attract more than $38 billion in external financing to cover the most important non-military budget expenses, and to receive funds from frozen Russian assets," he added.
