Kyiv urges Budapest to 'stop manipulation' on peace and Christmas, to refrain from unilateral contacts with aggressor state

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine called on Hungary to stop making false statements about its ability to stop the war and to refrain from unilateral contacts with Russia.
"We call on the Hungarian side to stop immoral manipulations on the topic of peace and Christmas, to refrain from unilateral contacts with the aggressor state, which undermines joint efforts to restore a just peace. The only obstacle to peace is Russia and its war-obsessed dictator. Ukraine strives for peace on its soil like no one else in the world," the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry said in a commentary published on Monday.
The Foreign Ministry said the actions of the Hungarian side are even further removed from peacekeeping than its statements. Thus, Hungary consistently calls for leaving Ukraine, which is being protected from Russian genocidal aggression, without weapons for self-defense, and prevents funding for strengthening Ukraine's defense capabilities, increasing sanctions pressure against the aggressor, and other critically important decisions.
"The joint efforts of our state and its partners are aimed at achieving a just and sustainable peace. Ukraine always adheres to the principles of honest dialogue and mutual respect. We will continue constructive contacts with our partners who sincerely seek to end the war, and not to defeat Ukraine," the MFA said in the commentary.
