Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy will take part in a meeting with the leaders of Great Britain, France, Germany, Italy, Poland, NATO and the EU in Brussels on Wednesday, December 18, to discuss support for his country in the war with Russia, Reuters reports, citing sources familiar with the meeting plan.

"It won't be a meeting that has concrete decisions, but more political to discuss the coming weeks and months," the source said.

As the agency writes, the meeting, organized by NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte, will take place on the day when the leaders of the countries were already supposed to gather for the EU-Western Balkans summit in Brussels, and will include a joint meeting and several bilateral meetings with Zelenskyy.

According to the publication, Zelenskyy and some of his European allies are calling for European troops to be sent to Ukraine to serve as a deterrent to further Russian military action after the ceasefire.
